Harold E. "Shadow" Allen, 70 of Lincoln died at 1:05 p.m. Thursday, March 21, 1991, at Memorial Medical Center, Springfield. Mr. Allen, a self-employed mechanic, was retired from Caterpillar in Peoria, where he had worked for 33 years. He was a World War II Army veteran. He was a member of American Legion Post 263, Lincoln Moose Lodge No. 1441 and Lincoln Eagles Lodge No. 2708. Mr. Allen was born May 19, 1920, in Mount Pulaski, a son of Clifton and Alice Goldman Allen. He married Delilah "Dee" Howe Fink in 1970 in Atlanta. She survives. Also surviving are his mother of Lincoln; two sons, Jan and Terry, both of Lincoln; two stepsons, Richard Fink of Detroit and Tim Fink of Guymon, Okla.; one stepdaughter, Paula Palivos of Atlanta; and five step-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one step-grandchild. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at Holland and Barry Funeral Home with Norman Howard officiating. Burial will be in Atlanta Cemetery with military rites accorded. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday with Moose rites at 7 p.m. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or to a charity of the donor's choice.
