MINOT - Alphonse Hemond, 57, died Thursday morning at Montello Manor, Lewiston. Born at Princeville, Que., Sept. 8, 1897, the son of George and Belzimire Goudreau. Hemond, he had resided in Minot for 32 years. A retired dairy farmer and member of Scred Heart Church in Auburn, he was a former State Senator, who served the unexpired term of the Late J. C. Boucher in 1960. He was road commissioner of Minot for 18 years; selectman of Minot, serving his third term at the time of his death; past chiarman of the Minot Democratic committe; a member of the Androscoggin County Democratic Committe; a member of Minot Center Grange and sereved on its executive board for several years, a member of the Minot School Board for five years and chairman of the school burilding committe for Minot schools. He is survived by his widow, the former Rose Anne Plante of Minot; three daughters, Mrs. Mattie (Rita) Ojala of Hartford, Conn., Mrs. Adrien (Irene) Patry of Auburn, Mrs. Raymond (Theresa) Patry of Lewiston; four sons, John, Roland and George, all of Minot, and Andre of South Portland; a sister, Mrs. Alphonsine Grandmon, Danville, Que.; a brother, Alfred Hemond of Princeville, Que.; and 32 grandchildren.

In Lewiston, October 15, 1964, Mr. Alphonse Hemond, age 67, of Minot, Maine. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 10 am. at the Sacred Heart Church, Auburn. The remains are at the Fortin Funeral Home, 70 Horton street, Lewiston. Visiting hours Friday 2 to 5 and 7 to 10 pm. Interment at St. Peter's Cemetery.
