Alfred "Al" Gallagher, at Good Samaritan Society, Lodi. He was born in Madison, the son of Clyde A. and Rosemary (Brady) Gallagher. Al moved to Lodi in 1933. He attended Lodi Schools, Coyne Electric in Chicago, Madison Business College and the University of Wisconsin in Madison. He served in the U.S. Army from June of 1946 to November of 1947. On June 18, 1955 he was united in marriage to Dorothy Seidl at St. Mary's Church in Luxemburg. He worked for 35 years in federal service at the United States Armed Forces Institute in Madison and Badger Army Ammunition Plant in Baraboo. Al was a tax preparer for 18 years with Premium Tax Service in Madison. He was a charter member of the Knights of Columbus #6463 of Lodi. He received his Advanced Class Amateur Radio License in 1972. He was an avid genealogist.
Al is survived by his wife of 56 years, his daughter, his son, his grandson, a brother, two sisters, a sister-in-law, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, Joseph, Clyde, Thomas and Neil; and two sisters, Marian Whalen and Rosemary Kuehn. The family suggests memorials to St. Patrick's Catholic church or to the Lodi Library.
