Rosevelt professed his faith at an early age and was a faithful member and worker at St. Paul Episcopal Church. He cooked and served breakfast every fourth Sunday.
Rosevelt married Marion Kitchen and one son, Rosevelt Jr. (RJ) was born from this union. Rosevelt was very proud of his son .In April, 1992 Rosevelt united in holy matrimony to Sandra Wright, who had one son that Rosevelt cared for and loved along with his wife until he was called to his Heavenly home on Wednesday, October 26, 2011.
After migrating to Cleveland he held various jobs before joining McGean, where he was employed for almost forty years. As with everything Rosevelt was involved in, he was a dedicated worker at McGean. It was his home away from home.
Rosevelt was a lover of mankind and he was loved by all. His passion was gardening of all kinds. He enjoyed spending time at the Garden from sun up until sun down. He took pride in any work or help he could do for others, as well as for himself. He kept his and other people's yard immaculate.
Rosevelt was involved in much civic work throughout the community. He headed the Farringdon Street Club for many years. He served as Vice President of the Mt. Pleasant Community Council and was a board member for several years.
Rosevelt leaves to mourn his passing and cherish his memory: his devoted wife, Sandra; his faithful son, RJ (Katrina), another son, Damon Wright (LaTara); daughters, Lillie Thomas (Michael), Eloise Hughes (William) and Joann Watford; the loves of his life, his granddaughter, Victoria Watford and his grandson, Matthew Watford; one brother, Louis (Elizabeth (Mae); one sister, Wincer Drew, and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
