Ruth Olive Core, 86, daughter of Joseph and Estelle Olive Davis, was born June 3, 1908, in Corning, Adams County. She died June 23, 1994, at the Adair County Memorial Hospital in Greenfield.
She attended the Corning Public School, graduating in 1928. She taught school one year after her graduation.
She married Fred Victor May 31, 1928. He died in September 1946, and she married Irvin Core Aug. 5, 1959.
Mrs. Core was very active in the community, was a member of the Prescott Disciples of Christ Church, the Quilters Club of Prescott, a Craft Club, the Bag Ladies Club, and a bridge club. She did handwork and much quilting and crocheting.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and her husbands. She is survived by her three sons, Donald Joseph (wife Jean) Victor of Westminster, Colo., Wayne (wife Wanda) Victor of Greeley, Colo., and Michael Victor and special friend Jane Beyer, West Des Moines; 12 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren: a brother Frank (wife Doris) Davis of Corning.
Services were held June 28 at the Disciples of Christ Church in Prescott with the Rev. Jeanne Groom officiating. Burial was in Walnut Grove Cemetery, Corning.
Casket bearers were Burton Blazek, Louis Blazek,
John Blazek. Dean Davis, Bob Davis, Verl Wynn.
Honorary bearers were her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to the Prescott Disciples of Christ Church.
