Mrs. Sarah Sprague Figgins died of old age at the home of her son, William Higgins in Krimlin, Oklahoma, Thursday evening, February 16, 1905. Deceased was born inMeade County, Kentucky, about 84 years ago, was married to Daniel Higgins in young girlhood, and the two came to Iowa in an early age. The husband departed this life about 15 years ago and she had since that time lived with her son near Morton's Mill and accompanied him and his family to Oklahoma about four years ago. The body was brought to this city and burial was made in the Memorial Cemetery near Morton's Mill Saturday. Owing to the impossibility of getting all the children together then, the funeral services will be held later. Eight children mourn the loss of a good mother, their names being Mesdames, Gus Cusher and Martha Sprinkle, Grant, Mrs. Lucretia Thompson, Job, and Joseph Figgins, Carbon, Edward Higgins of Idaho, Lewis of California, and William of Oklahoma. She was an aunt of Mrs. A. Allard of this city and has a number of other relatives in the vicinity north of here. She was a noble Christian woman and the many friends of the family extend sympathy to the bereaved.

She married married Daniel Figgins on March 18, 1839 in Perry, Indiana. Children: Charlotte, William, Isaac, George, Martha, Zerilda, Julia, Jobe, Joseph, Edward, Lewis, and Lucretia.
