Kentucky New Era obit posted 26 Mar 1989 reads as follows:

"Ross" Wells
James Wendell "Ross" Wells, 61, of 16605 Greenville Road, died at 6:50 pm Sunday at Jennie Stuart Medical Center following a short illness.

Services will be at 1pm Wednesday at Fuqua Hinton Funeral Home with the Rev. Forrest Goodman officiating and burial in Hale Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 4pm Tuesday at the Funeral Home.

A native of Christian County, he was born March 24, 1928, the son of Eunice Corley Wells, Christian County, and the late Osby Wells. A retired contractor and farmer, he was a member of North Chrisitan Community Church, a lifetime member f the Sheriff's Posse, former member of Homebuilders Association and was active in the Parade of Pennies.

Survivors, in addition to his mother, include his wife, Barbara E. "Becky" Sullivan Wells; a son, Wendell Dale Wells, Little Rock, Ark; a daughter, Mrs. Gary Lee (Fonda) Williams, Hopkinsville; a brother, Harlan Wells, Chrisitan County, four sisters, Mrs. Frank (Nola Mae) Wells, Todd County, Mrs. R.C. (Wilma) Phipps, St. Louis, Mo., Mrs. James (Mary) Pace, Chrisitan County, and Mrs. Franklin (Polly) Morgan, Bumpus Mills, Tenn.; and five grandchildren.
