Fleta was the daughter of Edwin E. & Amanda Barr Wood. She first married William Grabner, 24 Nov 1916, Effingham County, Illinois. They had one son and divorced.

Cowden — Mrs. John (Fleta Wood) White, 94, of Cowden died 7:50 a.m. Thursday (April 28, 1988) in St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital, Effingham.

Services will be 1:30 p.m. Saturday in Lockart & Sons Funeral Home, Cowden, with visitation 6 to 8 p.m. Friday. Burial will be in Beecher City Cemetery, Beecher City.

Mrs. White was born in Beecher City, daughter Edwin & Jane Wood. She was a member of Cowden Christian Church. She married John Q. White in 1925. He died in 1987.

Surviving are her sons, John and James, both of Cowden; Dean, Carl and Isaac, all of Fort Wayne, Ind.; Gene of Mount Clemens, Mich.; Max of Effingham; daughters, Phyllis Stroll of Bement, Peggy Tucker, Cowden; Mary Jane Goodwin, Fort Wayne, Ind.; 56 grandchildren; 109 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren.

Two sons, two brothers and three sisters preceded her in death.
