Nita Gay Carter Goff
GOFF Nita Gay Carter Goff, a native of Hurley, MS and a resident of Movella, MS age 76, born March 12, 1936, passed away on March 17, 2012, at her home.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Wiley S. (Bobby) Goff; her infant daughter, Angela; her parents Earlie McBride Carter and Loda Mae Dickens Carter; and her 5 brothers: Earl, Jarrold, Charles (Tinky), Larry, and Jerry (Lenny) Carter.
She is survived by her 3 children, Marilyn, Darlene, and Bobby Steve; her 7 special grandchildren, Nashira, Colby, Garrett, Tiffany, Brook, Ryan, and Dustin; her 6 precious great grandchildren, Mary Carter, Grant, Hunter, Brody, Myles, and Tucker Ryan; and a loving aunt, Ann Dickens. In previous years, Gay worked at the B.V.D. factory in Moss Point, MS; provided child care for many children over the years; and was an employee at Comfort/Hampton Inns. The ultimate joy of Gay's life was her children, her grandchildren, and her great grandchildren, always striving for their well-being, success, and happiness.
A special thank you to Dr. DeGroote, Dr. Quintana, and Dr. Henderson; Joan Carraway, and Brenda Milam; and Hospice of Light caregivers Samantha Williams, Johnese Cochran, Terri Mizell, Connie Malcom, and Whitney Pfieiffer for their compassionate care over the past years. Visitation will be held Tuesday March 20th at Heritage Funeral Home in Escatawpa, MS from 12:00-2:00pm, followed by a private family graveside.
