Texas Congressman. Came to Texas from Kentucky in 1840. Representative of Fannin County -now Collin County -in first Republic of Texas Congress. After Collin county was formed from part of Fannin, he was a Notary Public there. He was also a member of the Constantine Chapter, Masonic Lodge, Bonham, Texas. Full name John Campbell Morrison Hodge. Eldest son of William Nathan Hodge and Jane (Morrison) Hodge of Kentucky.
The exact location of his grave is unknown. However, he farmed in this area, his sister Elizabeth Bain (Hodge) Morris is buried here, and several generations of the Webb family - also buried here - farmed on John CM Hodge's land for over 100 years.
