Sally was the youngest daughter of William Nathan Hodge and Jane (Morrison) Hodge. She married John Wash, Jr on Jan. 6, 1833 in Marion county, Missouri after the death of his first wife, Lucy Ingram (Alexander) Wash Sally and John Wash had four sons: Nathan Robert Hodge Wash, William Morrison Jerome Wash, David Campbell Sandridge Wash and George Archibald Fields Wash. After John Wash, Jr. died in Lewis county, Missouri, Sally and her sons moved to Collin county, Texas, in October 1847. After the Civil War ended, her youngest son, G.A.F. Wash, came back to Texas and lived with her. The Wash family Bible states that she died and was buried in Coryell County, Texas, but no grave stone has been found for her.
