He was a member of the Little Home Old Regular Baptist Church, an ordained deacon, and church custodian and treasurer. Bennett completed Chef training at West Kentucky Technical School in Paducah, KY, July 26, 1956. A community activist, he served in various roles and was a passionate advocate for higher education and lifelong learning.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Bennett Adams Jr.; and five other infant children.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Margaret Louise Warren Adams; children, Ludrenia Hagans Shepherd (Merrel), Jorecia Singleton (Charles), Rayfort Adams, Kennie Adams (Joyce), Hettie Bailey (Tony), David Adams (Rita), Stanford Adams (Jennifer), Amanda Adams and Lenora Brown (Aaron); a sister, Josephine Jackson; 34 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held February 25, 2012 at the Little Home Old Regular Baptist Church in Redfox, KY. The funeral service was held on February 26, 2012 at the church. Burial followed in the Higgin's Cemetery on Rowdy Hollow in Sassafras. Published in The Courier-Journal on March 18, 2012.
