MARCENA SIDNEY TRIPP, BURLINGTON - Marcena S. Tripp, 69, husband of Flora (Shorey) Tripp, died May 1, 1997, at a Bangor hospital after a brief illness. He was born in Lincoln, April 16, 1928, the son of Norman and Annie (Sibley) Tripp. Marcena was a retired woodsman and truck driver and enjoyed hunting, fishing and trapping. He was a member of Burlington's Men's Club and Senior Citizens group. Marcena had a fond love for his church, the Worldwide Church of God. In addition to his wife, Flora, he i s survived by a son, Marcena S. Tripp Jr. of Portland; two daughters and sons-in-Iaw, Laurel and Kurt Schwinger of Poughkeepsie, N. Y., and Crystal and Byron Saunders of Dover; a brother and sister-in-Iaw, Eldon and Colleen Tripp of Lincoln; four sisters and three brothers-in-law, Shirley and Rodney Butterfield of Lincoln, Norma and John Colby of Mattawamkeag, Phyllis and George Blood of Lincoln and Marilyn Dennis of Augusta; six grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. Friends may call 7-9 p.m. Sunday at the Clay Funeral Home in Lincoln. Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Monday at the funeral home with the Rev. John Kennedy and the Rev. Gary Ogle officiating. Interment will be in Lincoln Cemetery. Please omit flowers.
