MARSHALL -- Funeral services for Lida Newton Craver, age 75, a resident of Harleton for 53 years, will be 2 p.m. Thursday, July 13, 2006, at the Colonial Chapel of Sullivan-Heaster Funeral Home in Marshall, Texas, with the Rev. Harry Lee Wilson and the Rev. Craig Evers officiating.
Interment will be in Center Cemetery of Harleton, Texas. Visitation was from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday evening, July 12, 2006, at the funeral home. Mrs. Craver passed away July 11, 2006, in Longview. Mrs. Craver was born to Clyde and Margaret Wyatt Newton on January 19, 1931, in Marshall, Texas. She was married to Z.T. Craver on February 16, 1952, in Marshall, Texas. Mrs. Craver was a home economics teacher for 26 years, teaching in Elysian Fields, New Diana, and Harleton, Texas. She was the creator of Sew Kits by Lida. Mrs. Craver was a member of Harleton Baptist Church, member of the Order of the Eastern Star, and the Retired Teachers Association.
Mrs. Craver was preceded in death by her parents, Clyde and Margaret Newton. Surviving relatives include her husband of 54 years, Z.T. Craver of Longview; daughters and sons-in-law, Karen and Dr. Dennis Stansbury of Tyler, Patti and Dr. Kelly Mack of Longview, and Lori and Layne Baugh of Star City, Ark.; nine grandchildren, Margaret and Jeremy Wysocki, Blake Stansbury, Alex Angela Stansbury, Adam Mack, Sarah Mack, Zach Baugh, Jonathan Baugh, Hannah Baugh, and Hope Baugh; sister and brother-in-law, Carolyn and Jim Shadwick of Hallsville; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Doris and Thomas Huff of Rockwall; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Blake Stansbury, Adam Mack, Zach Baugh, Jonathan Baugh, Giles Blalock, and Chip Gatlin. Honorary pallbearers will be her sons-in-law and nephews. Memorial contributions may be made to The Parkinson's Disease Foundation, 650 W. 168th St., New York, N.Y.
