Born Aug. 24, 1937, in Chicora, she was the daughter of the late Frank E. and Anna Hockenberry Young.
Ruth worked for Key Septic Tank for 22 years. She worked as a secretary, bookkeeper and waited on customers. She retired in 1998. She was a member of the Jehovah's Witnesses.
Surviving are two sons, Gregory A. Kelly and his fiancee, Denise, of Ford City and George F. Kelly and his wife, Leslie, of Chicora; four brothers, Edward Young of Butler, James and Thomas Young, both of Chicora, and Roger Young of Butler; five sisters, Mrs. Louise O'Donnell of Chicora, Mrs. Robert (Alice) Fontaine Jr., Mrs. Robert (Rose) Miller and Mrs. Jesse (Helen) Raabe, all of Butler, and Mrs. Elmer (Jenny) Blaha of California; three grandchildren, Michael, Zachary and Tiffany; a great-granddaughter, Haley; and numerous nieces and nephews. A granddaughter and two sisters preceded her in death.
KELLY-Friends of Ruth A. Kelly, who died Monday, Nov. 10, 2008, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the Geibel Funeral Home, 201 E. Cunningham St. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Officiating will be Wade Kummer. Burial will follow at Butler County Memorial Park.
