Services for S.P. "Percy" Fergeson were held at Crowell Methodist Church officiated by the pastor, Rev. M.A. Walker. Masonic services were conducted at the grave by Crowell Lodge No. 840, A.F.&A.M. with Bill Bell serving as worshipful master. Percy Fergeson married Miss Lilly Goode on 16 December 1914. One daughter was born to this union. Other survivors are two grandchildren - Stoney and Margaret Ann Smith; his step-mother - Mrs. S.J. Fergeson. Mr. Fergeson had been employed by the Santa Fe Railroad for over 30 years and was given a disability retirement in 1951. He and his wife built a home in Crowell and moved here from Slaton to make their permanent home. Mr. and Mrs. Fergeson was near Ruidoso, N.M. on their way to Las Cruces to visit their daughter and her family. He was taken to the hospital in Ruidoso where he passed away. Mr. Fergeson was a member of the Methodist Church, Crowell Masonic Lodge, Royal Arch Chapter, Crowell Rotary Club, vice president of the Downtown Men's Bible Class. He had been active in all these organizations since he returned to Crowell. He was converted early in life and had always lived an exemplary Christian life.
