Arnetta was born in North Carolina and moved with her family to Nottingham twp., Harrison Co., Ohio by 1840 and Franklin twp., Harrison Co., Ohio by 1850. By 1860, the family lived in Deersville where Arnetta died. She is buried next to her mother. No marker could be found in 1987. The Donnells were the only Black family in the area.
According to the Race and Slavery Petition Project at the University of North Carolina, Greensboro, Arnetta, her siblings and mother were all "owned from 1827" by inheritance. More research needs to be done.
