Obituary of Anna M. Bayer
Anna Marie Bayer, daughter of Thomas and Katherine Nelsen, was born Jan. 5, 1878, in Plano Ill., and passed away in Hastings, Nebr., Sept. 27, 1969, at the age of 91 years, 9 months, and 22 days.

At the age of three years she came to Nebraska with her parents, who settled in Kearney County. She experienced the pioneer days, living in a dugout, then a sod house until a frame house was built.

On March 18, 1902, she was married to Antone (Toney) Bayer, and four children were born to this union.

Mrs. Bayer spent her full file on the farm. It was her enjoyment to see the land produce the crops for which she and her husband had always worked hard to accomplish.

Her disposition was always cheerful and independent. The latter part of June she became very ill and needed extensive care. It was then she went to Hastings where she would be near her daughter.

Her husband, two children and one grandson preceded her in death.

Surviving her are a daughter, Frances Hamilton, Hastings, one son Toney, Minden, two grandchildren, five great grandchildren, many other relatives and ha host of friends.
Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon, Sept. 30, at the Layton Funeral Home, with Rev. John R. Wineman officiating. Interment was in the Minden Cemetery.
