Antone Michial Bayer, son of Thomas and Francis Bayer, was born March 24, 1878, in Kearney County, Nebr., and passed away in Minden, Nebr., December 27 1960, at the age of 82 years, 9 months and three days.
Mr. Bayer spent a full life time in Kearney County being occupied in farming operations. He was a hard worker who disposition was cheerful and whose mind was independent.
He was married on March 18 1902, to Anna Marie Nelsen. Four children were born to them, two of whom preceded their father in death, namely, Catherine, and Thomas.
Tony was christened and confirmed in the Roman Catholic Church. He was a member of the Odd Fellow Lodge, Minden. He has been in failing health for some time, but as was characteristic of his, he insisted on doing his own work.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Anna Marie, by one daughter, Frances, Hastings, one son, Antone, John Dutch, Utah, two grandchildren, Shirley Ann Evans, Washington, D. C., MacAllen Hamilton, Needles, Calif., one brother, John, Alliance, Nebr., many other relatives and a host of friends.
Funeral services were held Friday afternoon, Dec. 30, at the Layton Funeral Home with Rev. Harold Slagg officiating.
Interment was in the Minden Cemetery.
