Alice Sexton
Godfrey- Alice M. Sexton, 85, formerly of Wood River, died at 6:05 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 4, 1992, at her residence.
She was a manager for the Lee Shop in Wood River for 15 years, retiring in 1945.
Born in Vandalia Sept 7, 1907*(1905), she was a daughter of the late David and Magdalena (Summers) Hatfield.
She married Thomas A. Sexton May 4, 1925. He died March 16, 1964.
Surviving are a daughter, Betty Landers of Godfrey; two grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Lydia Fair of Alton and Eva Fair of Wood River.
Seven brothers and sisters preceded her in death.
Visitation was set for 5 to 9 p.m. Monday at George J. Paynic Home for Funerals in Rosewood Heights, where services are at 11 a.m. Tuesday. The Rev. Linda Shugert will officiate.
Burial is in Roselawn Memory Gardens in Bethalto.
Memorials may be made to Eunice Smith Nursing Home in Alton or the American Heart Association.
