Harvey N. Getty

Harvey N. Getty was born at Fairfax, Missouri, November 1, 1885. He was married to Styrla Frances Purdin at Kinsley, Kansas, June 25, 1905. Two children were born, Thelma Getty of Stilwell, and Harold Getty of St. John, Kansas. Styrla Frances Getty died April 12, 1911.

In 1912, Mr. Getty married Miss Jane Cadman, at St. John, Kansas and to this union Charles Robert Getty was born November 8, 1926.

At an early age, Mr. Getty united with the Presbyterian church at Fairfax, Missouri, in which church he held his membership at the time of his death.

He joined the Masonic Lodge at Stilwell in 1922, and was elevated to and held the office of worshipful master of that lodge, and was a member of Flint Lodge No. 11 at the time of his death.

Mr. Getty came to Stilwell, as telegraph operator, about 1920 and with his family has made this his home since that time. He died at Siloam Springs, Ark., June 21. Surviving are Mrs. Getty and his three children, Thelma, Harold and Bobby, his father, John Getty of Fairfax, Mo., a sister, Mrs. E.K. Thompson of Forest City, Mo., and two brothers Herbert Getty of Kansas City, Mo., and Don Getty of Fairfax, Mo.

Funeral services were conducted Tuesday afternoon by Rev. L.C. Summers at the Methodist church, burial was in the New Hope cemetery under the direction of Roberts funeral home.
