Graveside services were held at the Mount Hope Cemetery in Mound City on Friday, Jan. 12 for Mrs. Fuzzy Thompson, a former Fairfax resident.
Marie Thompson was born March 13, 1899 at Fairfax, the daughter of John and Balzora (Price) Getty, and died Jan. 9, 1996, at the hospital in Albany, Mo., at the age of 96 years.
She lived in Holt county, on a farm near Mound City until 19, then moved to a farm in the Daleview community near Fairfax and lived there until her husband died on Jan. 21, 1983, and then she moved to Albany to make her home.
She was married to E.K. "Fuzzy" Thompson on Feb. 12, 1920, and they were parents of a son, Mel, and a daughter, Joan.
She was a homemaker and a member of the Presbyterian Church of Fairfax.
Survivors include the daughter, Joan Jumps of Albany, and the son, Mel Thompson, St. Joseph, Mo.; 6 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.
Honorary Pallbearers were Mr. and Mrs. Vernon Trauernicht, Mr. and Mrs. Orrie Schaeffer, Mrs. Reba Robertson, and Mrs. Genevieve Stephens.
The Roberson-Polley Funeral Home, Albany, was in charge of arrangements."
