CARL GIERKE, AGED RESIDENT OF FALLS DIES LATE TUESDAY
Plymouth – Carl Gierke, 72, died at his home in the town of Sheboygan Falls Tuesday afternoon. He was born in Germany on June 7, 1842, and came to the United States in 1869, locating in the town of Herman. He later went to the town of Sheboygan Falls. He was married fifty-two years ago to Miss Wilhelmina Trebbein.
Mrs. Gierke and seven children survive. They are; Mrs. Louis Eickhoff of Kiel, Mrs. Amanda Eick of the town of Mosel, Mrs. Clara Truttschel of the town of Mosel, William Gierke of Sgt. Joseph, Missouri, Oscar Gierke of the town of Herman, Arvin and Gustave Gierke of Sheboygan, Carl Gierke, on the homestead. He is also survived by two brothers, Fred and Christ Gierke, in Germany, together with fourteen grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted at the home and at the Johnsonville church. The Rev. Mr. Vriesen will officiate, and burial will be made in the Johnsonville cemetery.
