Caribou - Isabella M. Pelletier, 85, died May 7, 1987, at Cary Medical Center in Caribou after a brief illness. She was born at Inverness, Cape Britain, Nova Scotia, Dec. 1, 1901, the daughter of John H. and Elizabeth (Matin) MacDonald. She had been a resident of Caribou for 70 years. Before her marriage to Ernest J. Pelletier on June 28, 1921, she was a school teacher in the Caribou Public School System and the Holy Rosary Church School. She was a member of the Holy Rosary Church, the Daughters of Isabella, the Ladies of St. Anne and the Catholic Golden Age. She was also a member of the Maine Teachers Association, Aroostook County Teachers Association and the National Teachers Association. She is survived by her husband, Ernest J. Pelletier of Caribou; five sons, Richard of Olney, Md., Dr. Daryl William of Cape Elizabeth, John of Concord, N.H., Ernest Jr. of Valley Cottage, N.Y., and Robert of Millinocket; one brother, Walter MacDonald of Oakland, Calif.; two sisters, Mrs. Paul (Beatrice) Bouchard of St. Basile, N.B.; 17 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. She was predcecased by one daughter, Lorraine Dyer. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Saturday, May 9, at the Holy Rosary Church. Pallbearers were Daniel P. Pelletier, Ernest J. Pelletier III, Paul Pelletier, Mark Pelletier, Mathew H. Pelletier and James C. Smart. The Ladies of St. Anne and Daughters of Isabella held a rosary service Friday in the chapel. Friends who wish may contribute to the Building Fund of the New Parish Center in her memory. Funeral arrangements were by the Lancaster-Morgan Funeral Home.
