He became a commercial pilot, before he was 21, a corporate business man, becoming one of the youngest Vice Presidents of Travel Lodge International, and had the great privilege of being the Administrator of Horizon Christian Fellowship, where he, and many exceptional people, built the churches and school campuses on Mt. Alifan, and El Apajo, to God's glory. Ed was an extraordinary husband, father, and grandfather. Mr. Mitchell is survived by his wife, Janet; their son, Jeffrey; daughter-in-law, Suzanne; his brother, Alfred Mitchell; his sister, Marsha Mitchell Newman; and his amazing grandsons. Ed is buried next to his beloved son Edward, and his mother, at the El Cajon Cemetery. His memorial service was held at Horizon Christian Fellowship, on October 16, 2009, on the El Apajo campus, in Rancho Santa Fe. He will be missed, and we will see him again.
