GEORGE KEARNS
HINDSBORO - George Kearns, 68, retired farmer of the Hugo community, north of here, died in his home at 6:15 o'clock on Wednesday evening following a second stroke of paralysis. He had been ill for more than a year.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:30 o'clock on Friday afternoon in the Hugo church by the Rev. J. R. McBride, Newman. Burial will be in Hugo cemetery.
He was born in Coles county on May 1, 1862, and spent all his life in Hugo community. On Sept. 2, 1883 he was married to Miss Laura Davis. Five children were born, a daughter, Mrs. Amy Thomas dying about a year ago.
He leaves his widow, and the following children: Mrs. Grace Brooks, Arcola, Mrs. Mae Woodworth, Decatur; Walter Kearns, Hugo; Frank Kearns, Camargo; and three brothers, E. W. Kearns, Bakerfield, Cal.; Al Kearns, Bemer, Neb.; and Will Kearns, Portland, Ore. He was a member of the Christian church.
