Mrs. Ditmars Dies Tuesday
Prominent County Woman Ill Several Days - Rites Thursday
Funeral services will be conducted Thursday afternoon at
2 o'clock at the Hopewell Presbyterian Church for Mrs.
Minnie Ditmars who died early Tuesday night at her home
here after having been seriously ill for the past
several days.
Rites will be in charge of Dr. Frank Baker, pastor,
assisted by Dr. John B Ferguson, pastor of the Irvington
Presbyterian Church at Indianapolis and former Hopewell
minister.
Burial will take place in the Hopewell Cemetery. Friends
are invited to call at the Flinn Mortuary Wednesday
evening between the hours of 7 and 9 o'clock.
Mrs. Ditmars, who was 80 years of age, was the widow of
the late William Ditmars for many years one of the
leading citizens of Johnson County.
She was born in Madison on August 31, 1864, the
daughter of Prof. David Graham and Carolyne Adams
Graham. She spent her girlhood days in Columbus and
Rushville, where her father was superintendent of
schools.
Mr. and Mrs. Ditmars were married December 16, 1885 and
they spent their entire married life on the Ditmars
farm two miles west of Franklin. Mr. Ditsmars passed
away in February 1930.
She belonged to the Hopewell Presbyterian Church and
was an active member of missionary society of the
church for over fifty years.
Mrs. Ditmars was a charter member of Alexander
Hamilton chapter, Daughters of the American Revolution,
and was a charter member of the Hopewell Fortnightly
Club.
She is survived by a son, Cort Ditmars, of Hopewell,
a daughter, Mrs. Edwin L Deming of Franklin, and four
grandchildren, Lieut. Mark D Deming, Miss Helen Deming,
A.C. David Ditmars and Mrs. Jack Comer.
