Funeral services will be held Friday morning at 9 o'clock at the residence, 913 Fifth Street, conducted by the Rev. Alexander Sharp, pastor of the First Presbyterian church. Burial will be made in East Hill Cemetery, Rushville, Indiana.
Mrs. Ong, a resident of Columbus for many years, was a highly respected woman and was held in highest esteem by her many friends throughout the city and county.
She was a talented musician. As a girl 16 years old, she played the small organ in the Presbyterian Church of Rushville. After coming to Columbus later in her life she was organist for the local Presbyterian church for many years. She was also an active member of the Columbus Matinee Musicale for many years.
She was a charter member of the Monday Literary Club. For several years she was a member of the Alexander Hamilton Chapter of the DAR at Franklin. She later became affiliated with the Columbus Chapter of DAR after its organization.
Mrs. Ong was born May 17, 1858, in Clark County, near New Washington. She was the daughter of David and Caroline Adams Graham. When very young she resided in Madison, Indiana, moving to Columbus in 1865. She resided here four years, moving to Rushville in 1869. In Rushville is was a charter member of the United Presbyterian church. She taught in the grade schools of Rushville from 1876 to 1881.
On October 26, 1881, in Rushville, she was married to Lewis Kinsey Ong, of Madison and resided there until May 7, 1883, moving again to Columbus, where her husband became cashier of the First National Bank. She was a resident of Columbus during the remainder of her life. She received her education in the schools at Madison, Rushville and Columbus.
Her Husband preceded her in death two and one-half years ago. She is survived by two children, Miss Carrie Ong, at home, a teacher in Columbus High School, and David Graham Ong, of New Rochelle, New York, one grandchild, Graham Wilson Ong and two sisters, Mary (John) Ditmars and Minnie (William) Ditmars of Franklin
