Samuel Dean Claibourn, 56, a longtime resident of Wilson County, Kansas died Thursday, March 8, 2012 at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita, KS. He was born June 22, 1955 in Fredonia, the son of Buddy Dean and Nellie (Shay) Claibourn.
Sam attended high school in Neodesha and graduated with the class of 1973.
Sam enjoyed hunting, trapping, and fishing and was a member of the Twin River Coon Hunters Association. He also enjoyed rodeos and competed as a Bull Rider, Team Roper, and Bulldogger when he wasn't fighting bulls with "Dynamite" Darrel Garner and Danny Cox. In later years, Sam announced for the Hebb Brother Rodeo Company. He was also a member of the Fredonia Saddle Club.

Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held on Wednesday March 14, 2012, 11:00 A.M. at the Cornerstone Christian Church in Fredonia with Pastor Mike Hughes officiating. Inurnment will be in the Fredonia City Cemetery. Friends are welcome to come by the funeral home on Tuesday to sign the register book.
