Buddy Dean Claibourn, 77, Fredonia, Kansas, died Monday, April 30, 2007, at Fredonia Regional Hospital.

He was born Oct. 23, 1929 near Buffalo, Kansas, to Oren and Florence Henderson-Claibourn.

He served in the U.S. Army from 1948 to 1951 where he received the Korean Service Medal with three bronze service stars.

On Sept. 17, 1950 at Bible Baptist Church, Fredonia, Kansas, he married Nellie Shay. She survives.

Survivors include two daughters, Cathy Carlson, Yates Center, KS, and Melissa Shoaf, Fredonia, KS; three sons, Sam Claibourn, Fredonia, KS, Warren Claibourn, Altoona, KS, and Oren Claibourn, Joplin, MO; a brother, Raymond Claibourn, Neodesha, KS; 17 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Audrie Claibourn, and an infant son, Ricky Lee Claibourn.

Burial with military honors will be at May 3, 2007 Fredonia City Cemetery.
