In memory of my father Len Bishop, a lifelong resident of Stepney in the East End of London, England who died aged 39 on 30th March 1966.

A devoted family man, Leonard Edward Arnold Bishop was born on August 4th 1926 and married my mother Phyllis Bishop in 1954, working as a warehouseman for many years in Commercial Road, Stepney following his national service in the Royal Air Force, where he served in Singapore following a short spell prior to this as a miner (Bevin Boy) in Sunderland, North East England.

He had many interests and hobbies, including photography, boat building and model railway but most of all, he loved anything to do with aeroplanes, either the real thing or building them in model form to display or fly by remote control and I have fond memories of our days out flying the planes he had built and also of us all attending the big airshows held at Farnborough and Biggin Hill.

He died on 30th March 1966 in the London Hospital, Whitechapel following a long illness suffering with heart disease and is buried in Manor Park Cemetry, East London. Even though so many years have now passed since he left us, throughout that time there has never been a day gone by when I have not thought about him and missed him.

Rest in peace Dad, I will always love you and you are here in my heart always.
