E.H. Niederer, 64, Mason Co. Funeral Director, Dies

Havana, April 26 - Everett [sic](should be Edward) H. Niederer, 64, Havana funeral director in Mason county since 1903 and coroner in the county 28 consecutive years from 1912 to 1940, died at the Graham hospital in Canton at 5 p.m. Thursday after a series of heart attacks beginning April 10.

Funeral services will be held at the Niederer funeral home at 2:30 p.m. Sunday.

Mr. Niederer was born in Chandlerville August 31, 1880, the son of Arnold and Ann Niederer. He graduated from the Morris embalming school in Chicago in 1903 and has been in the undertaking business in Mason county since. He has operated funeral homes in Easton, Havana, Mason City and Forest City.

Surviving are his wife, Rachel M. of Havana, a son Robert, E., junior partner at the memorial home, three daughters, Mrs. Frederick Juerjens of Peoria, Mrs. W. L. Ray and Mrs. W. K. Sheridan of Havana; seven grandchildren; a sister, Miss Ann Niederer of Chandlerville and two brothers, Arnold of Chandlerville and John of Havana.
