Emma Henderson, 68, Passed away Monday
Miss Emma Henderson, age 68, died Monday morning at 2 o'clock at her home on West Jefferson Street. Miss Henderson had been in failing health for the past four years.
Funeral services will be held at the home Wednesday morning at 10:30 o'clock, conducted by the Rev. Anthony Meengs, of the First Presbyterian Church. Burial will be in the family lot in the Hopewell Cemetery.
Friends are invited to call at the home and attend the funeral services.
Miss Henderson was born May 20, 1867, in the Hopewell community, the daughter of Harvey D. and Nancy S. Wheat Henderson. She lived her early life at Hopewell, moving to Franklin with her parents many years ago.
She was an active member of the Presbyterian Church, taking part in all the work of her church until failing health prevented it. Miss Henderson was a member of the West Jefferson Street Club and derived a great deal of pleasure from her association with the organization. She was a clever reader and generous with her talents in her church and club.
Surviving are three sisters, Mrs. Lavina Kinnear, of Franklin; Mrs. Dwight LaGrange, of near Franklin, and Mrs. E.E. Paulin, of Anderson, and three brothers, Eli, John, and James M Henderson, all of Franklin. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
