RALEIGH, NC — Janie Alexander, formerly of Raleigh, NC passed away on Monday, January 29th, 2007 in Huntington Beach, CA. She was 90 years old.
Janie was born in Northampton County, NC. She spent a large portion of her life in Raleigh, where she and her first husband, James Johnson raised a daughter, Nancy Carolyn Johnson. The Johnson family enjoyed the Raleigh community. Janie was a well-respected employee of Boylan Pierce.
Janie Johnson was preceded in death by her husband, James and her daughter, Nancy. At 70 years of age, Janie met and married Douglas Alexander, becoming Janie Flythe Alexander. With this new marriage, Janie gained a stepdaughter, Norma Martin and three new grandchildren, Norma's children Robin, Douglas and Brent.
Janie is survived by her sister, Betty Holt, as well as many nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her stepdaughter, Norma Martin and Norma's children, Douglas Martin and his wife, Andrea along with their children, Shannon, McKenna and Douglas Jr., Brent Martin and his wife, Kim along with their children, Brittany, Meggan and Kelly and Robin Martin. Her lap dogs, Nico and Chloe who were always giving her kisses, will also miss Janie.
A funeral service is planned for 11 a.m. Tuesday, February 6, 2006 at the Mitchell Funeral Home chapel. Interment will be in Raleigh Memorial Park.
