Herald Coaster, September 25, 1968:

Funeral services for Mrs. Emma Hoffman Boecker, 85, of Needville, were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the Immanuel United Church of Christ in Needville, with the Rev. Ed H. Weltge officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery.

Mrs. Boecker died at 3:20 p.m. Monday at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Tony Altimore, where she made her home. A native of Germany, she came to the United States with her parents, the late Mr. and Mrs. Henry Hoffman, at the age of nine months. The lived in Austin County, near Welcome.

She and her husband, the late Henry Boecker, were married Dec. 30, 1902 and came to Fort Bend County in 1919. They moved to the Needville area in 1921.

She is survived by three sons, Robert Boecker of Rosenberg, Oswald Boecker of Brenham, and Harry Boecker of Clute; five daughters, Mrs. Lydia Hartmann, Mrs. Ellie Meyen, Mrs. Mary Altimore, and Mrs. Hilda Hedt, all of Needville, and Mrs. Minnie Mikel of Damon; 31 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Otto Lee Meyen, Melroy Altimore, Donald Boecker, W. Lee Hedt, Gary Mikel, and Glenn Drachenberg.

Funeral services were under the direction of Garmany & Co. Funeral Directors.
