Selma "Sally" Grewing, age 83, of Watertown, South Dakota, passed away Friday, November 14, 2008 at Jenkins Living Center in Watertown. Funeral services were held on Monday, November 17, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. at the Wight, Comes & Sogn Funeral Chapel in Watertown with Pastor Iver Possehl officiating. Lori Fox was the soloist and Sharon Falk was the organist.

Interment in Mt. Hope Cemetery in Watertown.

Selma Irene Grewing, better known as Sally, the daughter of Knut and Gertrude (Abrahamson) Aaland, was born on December 29, 1924 at Howard, South Dakota. Sally grew up on a farm outside of Howard. She graduated from Howard High School then attended cosmetology school in Watertown. On June 15, 1947 she was united in marriage with Paul G. Grewing at the Bellvue Church in Howard. She lived her entire adult life in Watertown as a homemaker. Sally was a hairdresser for a time, was also employed as a retail clerk and worked at Riddle's Jewelry, and had worked as a cook in the school system. She was a member of the Mount Olive Lutheran Church.

Sally enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren. She also enjoyed bowling.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Paul on August 22, 1982; four brothers; and four sisters.

Sally is survived by her children, Dale (Lynn) Grewing of St. Cloud, MN, Dan (Juanita) Grewing of North Sioux City, SD and David (Susan) Grewing of Irving, TX; her sister, Mae McGeough of Watertown, SD; her six grandchildren; and her two great grandchildren.
