Mae was born on March 20, 1926, in Howard, SD to Knute and Gertie (Abrahamson) Aaland. She graduated from Howard High School. On January 10, 1947, she married Gale C. Hall. From 1947 to 1960, the couple farmed near Howard. In 1961, they moved to Willow Lake, SD and owned the Sale Barn where Mae clerked the sales and ran the cafe. She also drove the school bus for ten years and was a mail carrier with the postal service for eighteen years.
Gale passed away on April 27, 1989. Mae remarried in 1995, to Morris McGeough who passed away on April 6, 2008. Mae was a member of Lutheran Church of Our Redeemer. She enjoyed dancing, knitting, hardanger and all crafts. She also enjoyed spending winters in Arizona. She most enjoyed being with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She is survived by her children: Curtis (Peggy) Hall of Blaine, MN, Dorothy (Bob) Synstad and Linda (Wayne) Meester all of Watertown, SD, and Marsha Hall and Roger Ruud of Detroit Lakes, MN; ten grandchildren; and twenty-one great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, two husbands, four brothers, and six sisters. Memorials may be directed to Country View Assisted Living in Florence, SD.
