Martha Elizabeth Glenn, daughter of James and Mariah Lock, was born in Orange County, Indiana March 17, 1837 and died at her home in Marysville, Iowa, September 14, 1907, aged 70 years 5 months and 27 days.
In early life she became a Christian. Later, she united with the Methodist Episicopal Church and remained a constant member of the same until her death.
She was married to W.H. Glenn, March 3, 1856. To this union were born 8 children, 2 sons and 6 daughters.
Her husband with 2 daughters, Sarah and Rachel, preceded her to the spirit world.
Six children, Thomas Glenn of Attica, Hattie Walter of Knoxville, Elizabeth Tucker of Lovilia, Jennie Wharton of Bussey, W.H. Glenn and Laura Metz of Marysville, with 18 grandchildren,2 brothers and 4 sisters left.
Her life was marked by self sacrifices and devotion to her family. She made many friends who wil miss her greeting and words of cheer and sympathy.
Funeral services were held at the M.E. Church Monday September 16, at 2 o'clock, conducted by Rev. B.G. Hankins, Interment Marysville.
