He was born May 29, 1921, to parents Amile Earnest Ischy and Annie (Woods) Ischy. Amiel farmed and ranched outside of Georgetown on Highway 29 west. Amiel was a very gifted pianist and entertained many people with his great talent and taught many people how to play the piano and organ. He was the President of Williamson County 5th Sunday singing for many years. Amiel was a member of the Union Hall Baptist Church.
His sisters, Loraine B. Lamb and Margaret Ritchie, both of Austin; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends, survive him.
The family received guests for visitation from 5 until 9 p.m. Sunday, August 22, 2004, at Cook-Walden/Davis Funeral Home in Georgetown. Funeral services were held there on Monday, August 23, 2004, at 11 a.m. with Pastor Kenneth Hickman of the Union Hall Baptist Church, officiating assisted by Pastor Fred Daughtery of the Skyview Baptist Church. Interment followed at the I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Georgetown.
