Margaret Ischy Ritchie born near Georgetown, Texas, January 15, 1918, lived in Austin since 1936 until her death on Thursday, August 25, 2005. She had worked for the Texas Department of Water Resources and was a member of First United Methodist Church (Susannah Wesley Sunday School Class), Austin Kwill Klub, Austin Poetry Society and Capital Bowling League. She had spent the last years of her life happy in her own little world of Alzheimer's.
Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Joyce and John Garner of Houston; son and daughter-in-law, Warren and Susie Ritchie of Dripping Springs; sister, Loraine Lamb of Austin; four grandsons, Justin Garner and wife, Jennifer, Jeremy Garner, Ben Ritchie and wife, LeaAnna; and Scott Ritchie; and three great-grandchildren, Hope Ritchie, Chase Garner and Will Garner.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Billie H. Ritchie.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m., Sunday, August 28, 2005, at Cook-Walden Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, August 29, 2005, in the Colonial Chapel of Cook-Walden Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Austin Memorial Park.
