Mrs. Matlock was born January 28, 1925 in Cross County the daughter of George Horton and Portie Lawson Horton.
She was a retired nurse with Baptist Memorial Hospital-Forrest City and a member of the Village Creek Baptist Church.
She is joined in Heaven by her husband, Gene Matlock; two daughters, Karen Rook and Shirley Greenwood; two grandchildren, Gary Glenn Taylor and Anthony Matlock; and one great-grandchild, Conner Shafer.
She is survived by one daughter, Betty Sue Nichols and husband Bill of Colt; three sons, Bobby Matlock and wife Raeleen of Conway, Ronald Matlock and wife Sarah of Forrest City, and Randy Matlock and wife Barbara of Wynne; two brothers, Murl Horton of Colt and Burl Horton of Lawton, OK; one sister, Ellen Wheeler of Wynne; twenty-one grandchildren; thirty-five great-grandchildren; and six great-great grandchildren.
She truly loved spending time with her family and was full of joy and laughter wherever she was.
Visitation with the family will be held Thursday, December 26, 2013 from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at Morgan Funeral Home.
Funeral services are scheduled for Friday, December 27, 2013 at 2:00 P.M. in the Chapel of Morgan Funeral Home with Bro. Terrell Neeley officiating.
Burial will be at Loughridge Cemetery in Colt.
