Eva M. Schoon, 86, of Roanoke passed away at 2:50 p.m. Friday (March 2, 2012) at Advocate Eureka Hospital, Eureka.

She was born June 11, 1925, in Sterling, to Albert and Gladys Marie Schneider Weers. She married Myron Schoon on Sept. 10, 1944, in Benson. He survives.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one daughter, Sandra Breach; four brothers; and three sisters.

After graduating from high school, Eva had worked at State Farm Insurance Cos. in Bloomington. Then she became a homemaker and farmer's wife; Eva helped in many duties on the family farm. She had also worked at Roanoke Apostolic Christian Home.

Eva enjoyed knitting afghans for family members and friends, and loved to give them as gifts for newborn babies. She also loved to sew and she always enjoyed her crossword puzzles.

She was a member of St. Peter Lutheran Church in Benson, where she had been active in the ladies aid and the altar guild.

Eva was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who will be greatly missed by all those who knew her.
