Mrs. Mary Ann Garrett, mother of George Garrett counselor in the Bountiful Second ward bishopric, died of bronchial asthma in Salt Lake City yesterday morning, after but a few day's illness.
For more than a half a century she had resided in Bountiful, but the past three years she and her daughter, Mabel, have been living in Salt Lake, where the latter has a position and the mother has been working in the Temple.
Deceased is the widow of the late Henry Garrett, who for many years run the Bountiful Meat Market.
Mrs. Garrett was born in Farnham, Surrey, England, emigrating to this country with her parents in 1861 being a girl about eight years old. She was sixty-seven years old last October. She was the daughter of Richard and Ann Burgess Ashdown.
She was the mother of thirteen children, the following surviving her: George E., David, Lester and Joseph Garret, Mrs. Ida Hepworth, Mrs. Martha Wiseman and Miss Mabel Garrett.
She has quite a number of grand children.
Funeral services will be held in the Bountiful Second Ward, Sunday, at 2:p.m.
