Frank J. Vera, 64, of Aurora, Illinois, died Monday, November 16, 1987 at Hines VA Hospital in Proviso Township. He was born February 7, 1923 in Atotonilco El Alto, Jalisco, Mexico.

Mr. Vera was employed as an Insurance Broker for John Hancock for 15 years and was self emplyed as a Paralegal until the time of his death. He was past president of Centro Hispano Americano; was an Army Veteran of World War II and the Korean Conflict and received the bronze star and the purple heart.

Survivors include his wife, Marion (Plote) Vera; two daughters, Mercedes Taylor and Mrs. Hector (Antoinette) Rodriguez; two sons, Xavier Vera and Michael Vera; seven granchildren, all of Aurora; two sisters, Mrs. Sacora (Sarah) Vera and Mrs. William (Mary) Castillo of Montgomery; a sister-in-law, Elvira Vera of Aurora and numerous nieces and nephews; and his special friend, Robert Gregg.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Hilario and Mercedes (Jimenez) Vera; his step-mother, Guadalupe; a brother, Jessie Vera; a sister, Josephine Tellez and by his brother-in-law, Manuel Vera.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, November 19, 1987 at 11 a.m. at the Daleiden High Street Mortuary. Father Timothy Piasecki will officiate. Interment will be in St. Joseph Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 2 to 9 p.m. today, Wednesday, at the Daleiden High Street Mortary. A rosary will be recited at 8:30 p.m.
