Cedarville, Ill. - Rita R. Bender Spaide, 86, of Cedarville, formerly of Freeport, died Wednesday, May 12, 2010, in Greenfield, Wis.
Born Aug. 30, 1923, in Freeport, she was the daughter of Ira J. and Anna C. (Metzel) Bender. Rita married Kenneth M. Spaide Feb. 5, 1943.
Rita was a accountant for Hilltop Plumbing in Freeport, and was involved in Girl Scouts and local swim programs.
Surviving are her daughter, Carol (Raymond) Moralez of Caledonia, Wis.; her granddaughter, Sara (Adam) Nowakowski of Milwaukee, Wis.; her great grandson, Jacob Nowakowski of Milwaukee; sisters, Kathy (John) Heiler of Lena and Mary (Lonnie) Welt of Seattle, Wash.; and other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth; parents and sister.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. Monday, May 17, at Walker Mortuary followed by the funeral at noon Monday at Walker Mortuary with the Rev. Jack Ward officiating. Burial will be at Oakland Cemetery.
