I'm adding a memorial in remembrance to you
"Little One". I don't know your exact birth and
death dates, nor where you were buried.
However, what I remember from what my Pop
(your brother) told me, was that you
were a boy, born between Uncle Charlie and the
twins, Uncle Jim and Aunt Dellie.
My guess is that you were buried on the farm of
the Merritt Homeplace, from what I remember
hearing and seeing as a child.
Your parents were John Wesley and Lydia Louzina
(Lamb) Merritt. They were parents of ten children. Grandma (Lydia Louzina) died at a
fairly young age herself. She was 39 yrs at death.
Grandpa (John Wesley), never remarried after her
death, and he lived most of his life, a few miles
northwest of Pittsboro. He was a good and honest
person, and a very caring father.
You were a brother to Mary Elizabeth, Nora Bell,
Lillian Mae (she too died at a very young age),
Anna Luetta, (my Pop) John William, Eliza T.J.,
Charles Alvin, James Wesley and Della Frances.
All good and upstanding people, and very dear
Aunts and Uncles, whom I still miss.
Your grandparents were John (1803) and Elizabeth
(Walter) Merritt & William D. and Mary Elizabeth
(Case) Lamb.
Well "Little One", I'm sure you've been united
in Heaven with all of the above family.
Just wanted to leave a memorial for you so that
future generations will know that you were a part
of this family too.
