Muriel Perry Obituary
Mrs. Muriel (Scottie) Perry, age 85, died peacefully with her daughter at her side January 30th, 2011.
An army brat, born March 9, 1925, at Fort Des Moines Iowa to Master Sergeant Ray Elithorp and his wife Eva, She was a long time employee of Eastern Airlines from where she retired.
Muriel was very giving and adventurous soul who travelled extensively making lifelong friends all over the world. She helped pioneer the way for female race car drivers, having raced both sports and rally cars in the early 1960's.
She is survived by her daughter, her grandson and wife, granddaughter husband, great grandsons, many cousins, nieces, nephews, and her beloved dog Prissy. [Names deleted for privacy]
She asked for a private ceremony to be attended by her family. Muriel requested memorial contributions be sent in her name to the Best Friends Sanctuary (for abused animals) 5001 Angel Canyon Road Kanab, Utah 84741.
She touched many lives during her lifetime, more than she will ever know, and she will be sorely missed by the many who loved her.
