Memorial services for Joe L. DAY, 69, a Hansford County Commissioner from 1953 to 1977, were held at 2 p.m. Saturday in the First United Methodist Church here. Burial was in Hansford Cemetery by Boxwell Funeral Directors.
Mr. DAY died Thursday, Dec. 31, while visiting his daughter in Walters, Okla.
He married Neva PRATER in 1935. they moved to Spearman in 1945. They moved to Truth or Consequences, N. M. in 1977.
Survivors include his wife, Truth or consequences, a daughter, Connie VARDELL of Randlett, Okla.; and two brothers, Pat DAY of Odessa and James DAY of Texline.
