Douglas Aldridge, 71, of Edgewood Drive, died Tuesday at Jennie Stuart Hospital after a long Illness.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Fuqua-Hinton Funeral Home with the Rev. Bob Lawrence officiating and burial in Green Hills Memorial Gardens.

A native of Trigg County, he was born June 21, 1910, the son of the late Robert Rudolph and Cora Lee Turner Aldridge. Mr. Aldridge was retired from the National Life Accident Insurance Co. after 23 years.

He was an Army veteran of World War II, the recipient of the Purple Heart and the Silver Star, and a member of Second Baptist Church and the Jouett Henry Chapter #8 of the Disabled American Veterans in Hopkinsville, Kentucky.

Survivors Include his wife, Ernestine Murphy Aldridge; two daughters, Mrs. Eddie (Kaye) Outland, city, and Mrs. Yvon (Janet) Bourque, Birmingham, Ala.; two brothers, William of the city, and Rudolph Aldridge, Nashville, Tenn.; one sister, Thelma A. Maloney, Jacksonville, Fla., and four grandchildren.
