HOWLING OF FAITHFUL DOG
----
Tells a Mother of the Tragic Death of Her Young Son.
----
NEAR CALEDONIA TUES.
----
Terry Aldridge Killed While Out Hunting Rabbits With Gun and Dog.
----
Terry Aldridge, aged 17, a son of Mr. and Mrs. R.R. Aldgridge, of Caledonia, was killed while hunting Tuesday morning. The young man had been laid up by an injury to his hip about a month ago and had just gotten able to walk about a little. About 9 o'clock he took a gun and went into a field near the house to hunt rabbits. Shortly before ten, his mother heard the report of his gun, but thought nothing of it. At 10 o'clock Mrs. Aldridge went to a spring in the same direction and her attention was attracted by the howling of the boy's dog that was with him. The mother investigated and soon came to the dead body of her son. The dog was sitting by his side still howling. His gun had been discharged in getting over a fence, the load entering the boy's bowels. Death had evidently occurred in a few minutes after the accident.

Young Aldridge was a member of the Locust Grove Baptist church. The burial took place yesterday at the Mark Jones graveyard near his home.
